Today marks another significant moment in UK politics as the former Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham takes over as Leader of the Labour Party. However, he won’t formally become Prime Minister until Monday, when he is expected to be invited by the King to form a government – presumably giving the Downing Street removals team the weekend to get everything boxed up! But, as Parliament has now risen for the summer recess, it could be some time before we see the new Prime Minister setting out the priorities of his government, or making any announcements affecting the housing sector.
