Newsletter Overview
Welcome to the latest issue of Let’s Talk Lets – your roundup of news from across the rental sector. This issue comes hot on the heels of the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget, which took place earlier this week.
61% of you told us that your biggest concern in the budget was the prospect of National Insurance being applied to rental income. However, while that specific proposal didn’t make it into the Red Box, landlords will still see costs increase through the newly announced 2% tax rise on rental income.
In addition, the continued freeze on income-tax thresholds will push more people into higher tax brackets; meanwhile, for those with higher-value properties, the introduction of the ‘Mansion Tax’ means homes valued at £2 million and above will now incur an annual charge starting from £2,500.
We’ve broken down the detail of each announcement, and what and what it means in practice in our latest infosheet.
Also in this issue, we share a handy BOX change; we peek into some suspected fraud cases that have been stopped in their tracks, and we also meet another Hubster in the Spotlight.
Enjoy this issue!
