BOX Development Roadmap
Here you’ll find our future plans for BOX to make our pre-tenancy platform the perfect solution for all our customers.
This page tells you what great new features will be in our next scheduled release, as well as upcoming features which you can vote on to let us know what you want us to see most in our next releases. And if there’s something you think would be a great addition to BOX that’s not on the list, submit a new feature request here for us to consider.
Our primary goal is to provide you with stable and reliable releases. As such, the features listed here are subject to change.

Pre-Qualify Tenants
A pre-referencing process to allow you to better assess multiple applicants’ suitability for a tenancy before beginning the full referencing process.

E-sign landlord terms of business
Allowing you to create landlords terms of business via BOX and send to landlords for e-signature, digitising and expediting your landlord onboarding process.
Issue offer letters to landlords
Allowing you to send formal offer letters to your landlords via BOX to make it quicker, easier and keep all your administration in one place.
Taking deposits and rent payments
In this exciting new feature tenants will be able to set up and pay their tenancy funds via the BOX platform. This includes holding deposits, advance tenancy funds (tenancy deposits or deposit scheme charges and advance rent) as well as ongoing rent payments throughout the tenancy.
Clearer visibility of referencing progress
This feature will see the current Applicant Details Page redesigned to make it clearer for you to see exactly what is outstanding on a reference. You’ll also be able to quickly take common actions like adjusting rent shares, adding guarantors and upgrading reports to make managing references easier. Details of detrimental data will also be more accessible so you can make decisions quickly before we’ve even completed your final report.
Onboard existing tenancy portfolios
For clients who have used another pre-tenancy platform before, this release will enable you to upload all of your existing tenancies to BOX in one easy step. You can then manage the renewal of those tenancies, change of occupiers or re-referencing that may be required.
Offer Deposit Replacement Insurance any time
Currently Deposit Replacement Insurance can only be offered at the start of a new tenancy. This improvement to our popular insurance product will allow you to offer Deposit Replacement Insurance any time, even mid-term, providing more flexibility for you and your tenants.
Quality control and fraud guidance for Buzz referencing
This new optional feature for clients using our in-house referencing software will provide step-by-step online instructions to guide you through the document-checking process with a complete online audit trail.
Apply your branding to BOX
Whitelable the BOX platform to prominently feature your logo and branding so it really feels like your own, both for your team and your tenants.
Alto integration
Allowing Alto customers to automatically create references with BOX at a click of a button and share information between the two platforms.
Pet referencing
A comprehensive “Pet CV” to help you better understand the type of pet(s) a prospective tenant owns, third party references and recommendations for suitable properties.
