From 14th May 2025, new AML and financial sanctions regulations will impact letting agents, expanding compliance requirements and increasing penalties for non-compliance. Letting agents will now be required to conduct mandatory Customer Due Diligence for all rental transactions, enhance their reporting to the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), and comply with stricter financial sanctions enforcement. Failure to meet these requirements could result in heavy fines and serious legal risks.
