Renters’ Rights Survey Results | Part One

Four months on from the implementation of the main Renters’ Rights Act reforms, the private rented sector is beginning to adjust to a very different operating environment.

To understand how those changes are being felt in practice, we surveyed letting agents and tenants, exploring everything from landlord confidence and tenant understanding to how well agents are prepared, and confidence in the courts.

The findings reveal the market is adjusting, but at different speeds. Landlords appear to be becoming more cautious whist tenants are feeling increasingly confident in their rights. Meanwhile, agents feel well prepared for the new regime – but they’re less confident in the systems supporting it.

In this three-part series, we explore what the findings tell us about the rental market after reform.
