What A New Prime Minister Could Mean For The Property Sector
Britain is about to have its seventh Prime Minister in ten years.
Each new leader arrives promising change; but each inherits a growing list of challenges, and is expected to deliver results almost immediately.
Those of us working in housing know meaningful change has never happened overnight. Homes take many months to build, and transactions can take months to complete.
Even the Private Rental Sector which is typically known for faster transactions can prove slow to change. Despite the reforms having the backing of several Prime Ministers, the Renters’ Rights Act has taken seven years, and is yet to be fully implemented.
So, as the former Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is expected to move into No. 10, what could his leadership mean for letting agents and the wider housing sector?
And if history repeats itself once again, how different could the future look under a different Government?
