While possession claims have slightly decreased, landlords are now more likely to pursue cases through to repossession. At the same time, a rise in settlements and mediation suggests that more landlords are working proactively with tenants experiencing short-term financial difficulties.

National Trading Standards has withdrawn the Material Information guidance, but letting agents are still required to disclose all material information under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC Act). Enforced by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the act allows penalties for non-compliance. While there is no checklist, full transparency remains the standard.
